Prof. Oktay Banlı is a key stakeholder in our project as the founder and president of the Turkish Obesity Surgery Foundation. With his vision for multidisciplinary work, Prof. Banlı supports us in introducing our project to his patients and inviting them to participate.

Bariatric surgery is recognized as the most effective long-term method for treating obesity. However, this surgery is not only a medical intervention but also involves significant physical, emotional, and social changes for individuals. Therefore, it is crucial to support and monitor the change process from a holistic perspective to ensure the sustainability of the surgery’s success. This holistic approach is gaining global acceptance, and clinics that provide multidisciplinary follow-up and support for postoperative changes are becoming more common.

In our country, there are limited but notable examples of good clinical practice. The Turkish Obesity Surgery Foundation stands out as the only foundation in our country that adopts a holistic and multidisciplinary perspective, encompassing all relevant expert stakeholders and supporting research and educational activities for the benefit of both society and individuals. The support of Prof. Banlı, as the foundation’s founder, is invaluable for promoting a culture of multidisciplinary teamwork and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations in our country for sustainable health.

We are thrilled to collaborate with Prof. Oktay Banlı in our project to enhance its visibility and societal impact. We believe that his invaluable support and vision will play a crucial role in the success of our project and in advancing the health of both the community and individuals.
